In my research, I focus on using attenuation or Q information as a tool to reduce the uncertainties in reservoir characterization. Some of the challenges that I am interested in solving are – scale effects on Q, Q based rock physics, Q measurements from well logs. The final aim of my work is to utilize all these research and develop a methodology for Q based quantitative seismic interpretation. The anticipated impact of the work are on - fizz gas related problems, overpressure hazard identification, time-lapse seismic studies, CO2 sequestration projects and others
