With the ever-increasing data collection on various physical processes as well as on human behavior and interactions, it is not only important to correctly define the problem at hand but also to understand how to deal and extract meaningful insights from the data sets. The process of extracting meaningful information requires understanding of statistical measures and methods. I strive to learn geophysical processes by studying patterns and associations based on big data analysis. Currently, I am in my final year of a PhD degree at Stanford University in Geophysics. In parallel, I am pursuing a minor degree in Statistics from Stanford with an emphasize on machine learning and big data analysis. I employ this knowledge in my research and self-developed stock-market algorithms for personal use.
