Robert Cieplicki
Starting Year:
2014
Graduation Year:
2020
Robert is in 3rd year of his PhD program in the Department of Geophysics at Stanford University. He is advised by Prof. Mark Zoback and applies machine learning to drilling data (MWD) to predict rock properties in the absence of wireline logging. Applications of Robert’s work include predicting reservoir response to stimulation and improving horizontal well placement in real time. Robert has BSc and MSc degrees in Geophysics from AGH (University of Mining and Metallurgy) in Krakow, Poland. He was focused there on detection and location of microseismic events induced by hydraulic fracturing. Robert also worked for MicroSeismic, Inc. where he further developed techniques for seismicity induced within reservoirs.
