My PhD work focuses on the mathematical modeling of overpressure build-up and microcrack growth associated with kerogen thermal maturation. Ultimately, I wish to simulate acoustic responses of source rocks as they undergo thermal maturation, and predict the elastic properties of the source rocks based on well logs and geochemical data.
